Founded by Cincinnati native Ben Necessary, who brings 20+ years of horticultural experience, Native Roots blends expertise with a passion for the environment. Ben’s journey—from studying horticulture at the University of Kentucky to working in Hawaii and the Cincinnati Zoo—led him to create Native Roots. The company has since expanded to include the Native Roots Plant Market at the historic James Clark Farmstead, offering a seasonal selection of high-quality plants, flowers, shrubs, and native species.
