Native Roots founder and Cincinnati native, Ben Necessary, brings over 20 years of experience. Ben began his career with a degree in horticultural sciences at the University of Kentucky. After years spent in Hawaii growing and propagating plants and a decade at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden supervising garden and exhibit installations, he decided to create something of his own, and Native Roots was born.
Since then, the company has grown to include Native Roots Plant Market at the historic James Clark Farmstead along the creek in Anderson Township. Each season the plant market offers a carefully sourced selection of the highest-quality plants, flowers, shrubs and trees, including many native species.
