Black Chokeberry
Aronia melanocarpa
Black Chokeberry is a native deciduous shrub. It is a moist soil tolerant, sucker forming shrub. The flowers are white and followed by clusters of black berries that last into the winter. Though the berries are edible, they do not often taste good on their own. Attracts birds. Fall color is purple-red.
